Cherchez la Femme is about creating a space for feminists to shoot the breeze over a few drinks and we’ve taken this show on the road, visiting Sydney, Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide and Newcastle. Now we’re heading to Albury-Wodonga! Or Wodonga- Albury! But we’re coming! Karen Pickering will be welcoming a panel of brilliant feminist thinkers in the region to talk about Feminism and Community.

The feminist movement is seeing some big changes lately, with old debates being revisited, reignited and yes, being seen in new and challenging ways. The incredible influence of online spaces in building connections between feminists has been transformational, but it also puts women in a firing line like we’ve never seen before. How do we build feminist communities? Do you feel like your networks of other women and feminists are strong and supportive? What would you like to see the feminist community at large do differently?

All this and more as we invite these amazing local women to the CLF stage:

- Jessamy Gleeson - academic, activist, producer, feminist.

- Eithne Leita - advocate, retiree, grandmother, feminist.

- Gaye Patterson - broadcaster, commentator, journalist, feminist.

We’ll be hosted by the wonderful folk at the Crown Lounge at Paddy’s. Doors open from 2:30, with the show to start at 3:00.

Warmest,
Karen
